As I suspected with the full voicemail, other people got caught.

So if you have similar experience write me together we might not get our money back, but we will be stronger.

PayPal is my pal

As soon as I had suspicion of a fraud I have opened "a Dispute in the Resolution Center". Well PayPal ruled in my favor but I got nothing since Lunes12pm (Centrifugal Design) has wiped out his account.

PayPal protect scammer private data so they will not do anything against them (at least it is was I understood)

No response from Lucas Bailey

Well couple days before the arrival date I send Lucas Bailey an email to arrange the visit.
No response

Try to call him,
no answer but a message saying that the voicemail was full.

I realized that something went wrong.

The second message from Lucas Bailey the scammer

I called the so-called Lucas Bailey,
and send him a paypal payment for 515 $ (500 $ for him and 15$ for the paypal fee)

He wrote me back

Receipt for Sublet Deposit
This is to certify that I have received $500 to reserve apartment #12 at 142 Sullivan Street from May 7th through May 16th at a rate of $165 per night. (all inclusive).

Please contact me closer to May 7th (with specific information about your arrival times) so we can schedule a time to meet at the apartment and exchange keys for remaining balance (due in cash-better, paypal or cashier's check to my name),

vacantion rental scamming

On the 2 of april I've decided to go to craigslist.org to find an apartment to rent to spend some vacations.

I answer to several ads including the one from a guy so called Lucas Bailey using these adresses luke4041@gmail.com or Lunes12pm@gmail.com
He sends me some photos

I've attached some photos of the apartment for you and a copy and paste of instructions on how to make a reservation in case you're interested. May 7th through May 15th (leaving on the 15th) is available. The apt is located at Sullivan and Prince streets right below Washington Square Park. Its fully furnished and bedding/towels are provided. Internet, Cable TV and Utilities are included like the ad says. Also, the couch in the living area folds out into a queen bed but we usually use our aero bed (we have extra sheets/covers) at the den for guests as shown in one of the photos.

Sorry for the cut and pasted instructions but we do have to respond to a lot of people. My phone number is included below so please feel free to call preferably if you're ready to book the apartment, and would like to voice verify and become acquainted, for example.
